I live in a converted warehouse in West Oakland, and it’s the best willing subject for me to test out new (old) cameras. (These were shot with my Nikon FG-20, which I plan to use in Taiwan. I can’t wait!)

Angela and Benny just moved to the Bay Area from Texas to start a family (with their two dachshunds, Harry and Winston!) Their new home provided so many beautiful natural light vignettes that I could have spent hours shooting at their house. I don’t what my favorite part of the shoot was: being followed around by their cute pups or the crocheted cowboy booties and cowboy bib! See more from the shoot here.

Christian contacted me on Friday for a last minute corporate headshot and luckily, I was able to schedule him in. Part of what makes my job so much fun is getting to know people in a short amount of time. Within the half hour it took for us to knock out some photos to make the big guys at the top happy, I learned that Christian had just spent two years living in Singapore, that he was wearing his custom-made wedding suit and that he’s also a fan of the Black Keys. I’m just glad I was able to help make his transition back to US soil a little bit easier!
